Fueling Your Body During Your Full Moon Cycle!



Let's make this clear your Full Moon Cycle, is also your period, Flo or whatever other nickname you have for it.  I often talk about this topic on my Instagram stories.  My latest post was on this topic again.  I thought it was such an important topic, I thought I would blog about it here too because I wish I knew this information years ago.

When you fuel your body during your full moon cycle because it is beneficial to your cramps, energy level and overall health.  Now that it's fall I had to listen to my body more and I drink more fluids that are warm because it's cold outside.  I want to keep my body warm because my body is working very hard by shedding itself.

Since it's fall I bought organic bone broth to sip on throughout the day.  It's great because it's full of amino acids and it can help with bloating and digestive discomfort during your period.

Spinach, kale, and beets are amazing forms of iron for your body.  You want to keep your energy level up and this is what will really help.  If it's summer I buy a bunch of juices and drink it.  I like to cook my spinach for brekkie, lunch and dinner.

Bananas are rich in vitamin B6 and potassium.  When you don't have enough potassium it can cause cramping.  I add my bananas to my vegan whole food nutrition shakes and it gives me a full supply of my vitamins and minerals.

I also sip on hot water and lemon in the morning.  It's amazing for your skin everyday.  Also great for staying hydrated.  Watermelon is great for hydration too.  The reason why hydration is so important is because your body cramps more when it is dehydrated!

Tumeric and carrot juice are great for inflammation in the body.  Your body is inflamed Vixen!
You want to reduce the inflammation with vegan Omegas too!  There was a 2012 study that found a reduction in menstrual pain in women after 3 months of treatment with omega 3s from fish oil.
I actually take my vegan Omegas that come from plants 3,5,6,7,9 everyday.  It reduces my inflammation significantly.  After the gym it's amazing!

Salmon, walnuts, pumpkin seeds, are also great for you full moon cycle.  We may still have heavy flows, cramps and uncomfortableness but if you follow a better diet you will see a significant difference in your life.

Get as much rest as you can!  Your body is going through a lot and it's the perfect time to treat yourself to a massage, hot bath with epsom salts and bubbles!  Self care is your priority during this time.
